Fixing a nib to improve ink flow

The body of the Ohto Tasche, next to its nib.

I recently reviewed the Ohto Tasche and, although I loved the design and size of the pen, I found its reliability to be somewhat lacking when I was hatching the doodle I did as part of the review.

I was tempted to relegate the pen to the drawer of forgotten creative tools but I love the pen so much that I thought I’d give it another chance and try adjusting the nib to improve the ink flow.

The good news is that the operation was a success and the pen now offers a lovely, smooth writing experience and lines that don’t skip.

I’m going to test the improvements in another drawing.

I created a video while I adjusted the pen so you can see what I did. Just remember – only try this on pens that you are okay with losing. Until you get the hang of it, there’s a real risk you could damage your nib.
